E Potatoe
E-Potatoe is a series of works that arose from the combination of electrical materials, primarily electrical resistors and potatoes. My family background led me to combine these materials.
Potatoes play an important role in my family. My ancestors were farmers and survived two world wars by eating mainly potatoes. My ancestors were also active in the resistance, and this courage to stand up for freedom, but also the resulting trauma, have had a profound impact on my family history.
The combination of potatoes and symbolic electrical resistors gave rise to a unique aesthetic. The bead-like appearance of the resistors adorns and overgrows the organic material, acting in part as a protective shield. In the process of transformation, the organic material regains its formative power until it finally decays and decomposes.
