Betongold
In times of crisis, real estate is considered a reliable investment. Because it is said to have a similar stability of value to gold, it is also known as “concrete gold.”
Properties with a golden paw have a special influence on their surroundings. According to legend, their incessant waving not only attracts investors, but also brings good luck and prosperity.
However, their promise of salvation is dubious, as it is conditional on the misfortune of others. The promised profits can only be achieved through speculation on rising rent and land prices.
The result is the displacement of alternative and low-income lifestyles.
The interpretation of the waving gesture therefore depends on the perspective of the observer. It can be interpreted both as a gesture of attraction and as a gesture of defense. Its fundamental movement reflects the dynamics of a social process characterized by conflicting interests.
