Many of my works have a feminist background. I have long been concerned with the politicization of the burqa and the question of where these political boundaries lie, and how the colonial gaze in 1920s photography shaped the external view. My series Aubergine No and Resistance Braces also focus on the patriarchal view of femininity and the possibilities for a feminist response.
